KLCC Sustainable September: A Month of Eco-Conscious Initiatives at Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Putrajaya
September marks the beginning of an exciting month-long celebration of sustainability at Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). Aptly named “KLCC Sustainable September,” this initiative aims to promote environmental awareness, green practices, and sustainable living among the KLCC Precinct Partners and the broader community. This is the second edition of Sustainable September, building on the success of the previous year’s. With a focus on eco-conscious activities, KLCC is transforming into a hub of environmental engagement, where individuals, businesses, and organisations come together to embrace a greener future and a healthier lifestyle.
KLCC has long been recognised as a symbol of modernity and progress in Malaysia, and now, it is taking significant steps towards becoming a beacon of sustainability. The “KLCC Sustainable September” initiative is a collaboration between KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd (KLCCH) and KLCC Business Events Alliance (KLCCBEA) which reflects their commitment to reducing their environmental footprint and promoting responsible consumption. Through a series of activities and campaigns, KLCC Group aims to inspire positive change and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability in our daily lives.
Throughout the month of September, a series of sustainability-focused events and activities will be organized, continuing the momentum from last year’s successful edition. Similar to last year, Everly Hotel Putrajaya and Double Tree by Hilton, Putrajaya, will join forces with Putrajaya Holdings (PjH) to expand the initiative further with the aim to create a stronger impact by contributing to the shared vision of promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices across the KLCC Group.
The one-month campaign offers a wide range of activities such as fun run, bake for charity, feed the homeless, pound fit, yoga, blood donation drive, art in the park, and mangrove planting. “KLCC Sustainable September” is a collaborative effort involving various stakeholders, including businesses, government agencies, NGOs, and the local community. By working together, these partners aim to amplify the impact of the initiative and drive long-lasting change. KLCC hopes that Sustainable September will not only raise awareness but also motivate individuals and organisations to adopt more sustainable practices for the next years to come.
The campaign commenced with a launch ceremony attended by approximately 250 employees from KLCC Group. The day started with yoga session conducted by celebrity yoga instructor, Atilia Haron, followed by piloxing session conducted by coach Eleza. Employees were then given the opportunity to participate in MyLearning Day, where they enthusiastically participated in a range of activities designed to broaden their knowledge and skills.
There were multiple booths set up, each offering insights into various topics, from the latest industry trends to personal development, such as Health, Safety, and Environment booth, Group Risk booth, Human Capital booth, Anti-bribery booth, AIA booth, and many more. This interactive experience allowed employees to engage with experts, ask questions, and explore new areas of interest, making the day both educational and inspiring.
With “KLCC Sustainable September”, KLCC Group is taking meaningful steps towards a greener, more sustainable future, and a healthier lifestyle — one that benefits both the environment and the community.
