Championing Sustainability: Menara PJH Lands Runner-Up for Energy Efficiency (Large Green Building) in National Energy Awards
Menara PJH, located at Precinct 2, Putrajaya has been recognised as the runner up for Energy Efficiency in the Large Green Building category at the National Energy Awards (NEA). The award ceremony was held at Grand Hyatt, Kuala Lumpur on 8 March 2024.
Serves as the headquarters for Putrajaya Holdings, Menara PJH is a premium, green-rated integrated development with 12 storey office tower and retail podium next to a prominent waterfront enclave. The building was also designed with a vision of environmental stewardship to achieve Gold Rating under Malaysia’s Green Building Index.
This accolade is a testament of green and sustainable design features of Menara PJH as well as the energy efficiency practices adopted which are the biggest contributing factors in achieving this recognition.
The NEA has been held annually by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, overseeing energy since 2018 and seeks to recognise organisations that adopt energy practices that are in line with the nation’s Just Energy Transition, Net Zero, and sustainable development goals.
The initiative is aligned with Malaysia’s aim to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 2050. The awards had four categories: Energy Management, Energy Efficient Building, Renewable Energy, and the Special Awards. Also in attendance was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Among the top winners were Hospital Alor Gajah, Melaka, which won the award for Energy Management in a Large Building; Hospital Tangkak, Johor, for Energy Management in Small and Medium Building; and Tzu Chi International School which was the winner for Energy Efficiency in the Large Green Building Category.
Present at the awards ceremony were Chief Executive Officer of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Ts. Izwan Hasli, and Puan Hartini Omar, Senior Manager (Operations & Maintenance), PJH Properties to receive the award.
Congratulations to the management of Menara PJH for this achievement!
