In commemoration of the 50^th anniversary of the Federal Territories celebration, Perbadanan Purtrajaya hosted a special ceremony to officially rename its auditorium at Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya as “Auditorium Tun Azizan Zainul Abidin”.  This ceremony was held in honour of the memory of its esteemed first President, Tun Azizan Zainul Abidin.

The ceremony on 3 February was officiated by Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail and witnessed by several heads of government departments and ministry. The wife of the late Tun Azizan, Toh Puan Noor Ainee Che Teh was accompanied by her sons, Minister of Finance II, Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan and wife, Encik Ikhwan Hamzah Azizan and family, and daughter Puan Sri Norizan Azizan.

The parent company of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd was represented by Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Md. Shah Mahmood and Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ts. Izwan Hasli M Ibrahim and Director, Datuk Seri Jebasingam Issace John.  Also in attendance was former Chief Executive Officer of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, Datuk Ir. Azlan Abdul Karim.

A special commemorative exhibition was held at the lobby of the auditorium displaying a collection of significant milestones and immense contributions by Tun Azizan to the country. The collection included various archival photos and memorabilia of the late Tun Azizan during his time as President of PETRONAS (1988 – 1995), Chairman of Putrajaya Holdings (1995 – 1996) and President of Perbadanan Putrajaya (1996 – 2004).
