Low-Value Goods Sales Tax (LVG)
Dear KLCC Group Family,
Have you ever noticed that you are paying more on your recent purchases from the online shopping platforms? The government has recently started collecting the new Low Value Goods (LVG) tax with effect from 1st January 2024 after several times of delays. With this new taxation implementation, goods imported direct from overseas that are valued under RM500 will be subjected to a 10% tax. This would mean that you’ll be paying more for products from China, Indonesia, and other overseas sellers purchased through e-commerce sites. The introduction by the government on LVG is to provide a fair and competitive market for local businesses.
